Kian Merrikh Photography

I currently reside in the beautiful city of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. I have been enjoying photography for over twenty five years. Throughout the years I have conducted informal photography workshops and lessons. I have also taken a number of courses with other professional photographers and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion of the art with others.

My Philosophy on Photography:

Photography is about the art of seeing. It involves the bringing together of your senses, emotions, vision, and technical skills to capture that “decisive moment.”

In that respect, photography is not about equipment. Someone with a keen vision and an understanding of how the camera sees and captures light can make beautiful images using the simplest of cameras; yes, the opposite holds true as well! The camera and lens are simply tools to help you bring your vision to life.

As you learn to make better images, you may decide to acquire tools which will help you overcome certain technical limitations, thereby allowing you to push the limits of your creativity. Above all, improving your photographic vision is a journey, one which is enjoyable and rewarding. As you learn to see more creatively, you begin to realize the new possibilities and challenges that await you!
